Want to teach?

image holder We are always seeking volunteer teachers to work overseas for one year and native English speaking schools to partner with our African classrooms via Skype. We are currently accepting letters of interest and applications for the 2016 school year in Ghana and the 2017 school year in Kenya.

For volunteer teachers, an intensive 90-day retreat in classroom management, pedagogy, and lesson planning, as well as instruction in how to teach English as a second language, is held at our training facility in the Adirondacks of upstate New York. After completing this training, the volunteer teachers are sent to Africa for a 9-month volunteer commitment to teach side-by-side with African teachers at one of our schools.

We enlist schools and students from native English speaking countries to sponsor and work directly with African schools to form collaborative partnerships in education. For instance, a classroom in the United States will partner with a classroom of a similar age group in Africa. The teachers will co-teach a few classes per week so that the students can better understand what it is like to live and attend classes in their partner school. This provides a unique opportunity for students to experience another culture from the comfort of their own home school environment.
