Build a School

AfricaTeach's education development philosophy revolves around long-term, sustainable ways for preschools and secondary schools to facilitate quality education for all children in Africa. We combine grass roots community involvement with AfricaTeach experience to develop an academic implementation plan for each community. The students, parents, teachers, community leaders, Board of Governors, government officials, and AfricaTeach for a School Leadership Team (SLT) that meets to discuss what their school needs and how to implement their learning goals for their children. The SLT develops an academic implementation plan with six comprehensive steps: (1) construction or renovation of facilities, (2) water and sanitation, (3) furnishing of facilities, (4) supply of scholastic materials, (5) staff and teacher recruitment and initial training and ongoing development, and (6) implementation of technology and media. AfricaTeach has three ways in which you can become involved in building a school in Africa.

Collaborative Sponsorship

okaceholderIn a collaborative sponsorship, your business, school, church, club, or team can assist Africa Teach in raising the funds to build a school. Through fundraising that your organization spearheads, you can sponsor the creation of a school and partner in the learning experience. Africa Teach will come to your location and help you organize fundraising and donor events to accomplish your goals. When enough funds have been raised to actually build your school, you will be able to send a team from your organization to actually assist in the building and opening of the school. After the school is operational, you will be invited to attend special events via Skype so that you are constantly involved with the learning process at your school. You will receive recognition on our website and on a plaque at your school as the collaborative sponsor and partner of your school.

Competitive School Team Projects

okaceholderAfrica Teach will help you organize a team at your school to compete with other teams to raise funds for building a new school in Africa. With this cooperative or coordinated effort by your group of persons acting together in the interest of this common cause, you will raise funds and awareness of Africa Teach through fundraising, social media, and active participation in the planning and constructing of your school in Africa. Africa Teach will come to your location and support you during this entire project. The winning team will be rewarded with the opportunity to go to Africa for two to four weeks to directly participate in the work in the field at their own school. Start a team now and join the fun!

Franchise

okaceholderDuring the next twenty-four months, AfricaTeach will be introducing a franchise program for investors who want to become directly involved with the building and running of a school in Africa. These schools will be based on a proven model generated from years of experience in the education field. AfricaTeach will provide consistent and continuous support, quality communications, the sharing of ideas, and exemplarily training. Because this is a nonprofit that puts the needs of children above the need to make money, these franchises will be for the purpose of helping students, not for turning a profit. These franchises will be designed to help change lives through a commitment to excellence in education.

Through this type of investment, you can chose to assist from the comfort of your own home and trust AfricaTeach to run the school under your watchful eye, or you can join AfricaTeach in the field by expanding your horizons as you experience and assimilate into a new culture. The choice of how much or how little you participate is totally up to you. AfricaTeach will be with you every step of the way.
